Barbara's Background

Barbara Perry has worked as a Manager of Non Government Organisations (NGOs) for six years in Australia, in both health and education.  In New Zealand she has been a School Principal for eight years in two schools, one as a Foundation Principal, setting up a brand new school and in the second school she was recruited as a Change Manager.

Strategic Planning

Having worked with a variety of organisations as a Consultant over the years, Barbara is very familiar with assisting you to plan for the future.  Meet with her to discuss where your organisation would like to go in the next five to ten years and she can assist you most ably to create a visual map for your organisation or a detailed plan for your website and stakeholders.She has also worked with groups to create Vision and Mission statements, ranging in size from small groups to large organisations.Workshops for your whole staff/team to gauge staff views using Graphic facilitation techniques are available.SWOT analyses can be provided as well as staff surveys and analysis around future plans and direction and what is and isn't working well in your organisation. Surveys of clients or stakeholders can also be administered upon request.

Professional Development

Over the years Barbara has worked with a broad range of organisations to provide staff training and professional development, from large groups to one on one.  She has provided training for:

  • Leaders/Managers: Coaching and Mentoring using the GROW model or other models as requested
  • Leadership teams (including NGOs): Vision development and strategic plans; how to coach others; Code of Ethics;  
  • Board members:  Governance training and working with Boards to develop a Governance Manual and Code of conduct
  • Teachers and Principals: Inclusion workshops at the New Zealand Principals Conference;  Democratic Curriculum workshops; Developing a localised curriculum; Sustainable leadership; Co-operative learning; 21st century learning; What does quality teaching look like?

Recruitment

Over the years Barbara has worked in a variety of ways in recruitment.  Your company may need an Adviser to sit in on the interview panel as an outsider for an objective opinion or you may wish to hire Barbara to co-ordinate the whole recruitment process for you from advertising to shortlisting, reference checking and scheduling the interviews, consulting with you at each point along the way.Whatever your needs, we can meet them!! Change Management

Barbara has been employed as a Change Manager in a number of organisations.  From setting up projects, such as a new school, licensed and chartered preschool, employment training programmes using State Government funding in Australia, to finding a suitable venue for a new Community Centre for People with Aids, she is an energetic and thorough project Manager.

Team Building

Every team is different and they have different strengths and weaknesses.  We have experience in working with teams to identify their future goals and plans and the barriers that are stopping these from being achieved.

Research
